Technologist. Executive. Entrepreneur.

I take ideas and turn them into the technology businesses actually run on — writing the code, then building the teams and strategy that ship it.

The short version

For twenty-five years I've worked the join between deep technology and the business it's meant to serve — writing the code, then building the teams and the strategy that ship it. I've led R&D organisations of up to 300, helped scale an ASX company past half a billion in recurring revenue, and stayed close enough to the stack to argue the architecture.

My career runs the full length of the craft — hands-on software engineering through to C-suite leadership and founding companies of my own. That range is the whole point: I move between strategy and execution without losing either.

These days I co-found ventures and sit inside a global M&A team, leading technology due diligence and integration on cross-border deals. Pragmatic about AI and architecture, disciplined about risk, and allergic to mediocrity.

What I do

T/01

Technology

I came up through the code and never fully left it. I design system architecture, drive platform modernisation and SaaS transformation, and take a pragmatic, real-world view of AI and automation — close enough to the stack to argue the architecture, senior enough to know which arguments matter.

  • Architecture & system design
  • Platform modernisation
  • SaaS & cloud — AWS, GCP
  • AI & automation strategy
  • Security & compliance — ISO 27001
B/02

Business

I run technology as a business, not a cost centre. Full P&L ownership, strategy and governance, organisational design — and the unglamorous discipline of budgets, reporting and risk that turns ambition into delivery. I also lead technology due diligence on cross-border acquisitions.

  • P&L & budget ownership
  • Product & technology strategy
  • Org design & change
  • M&A & technical due diligence
  • Board & executive reporting
I/03

Innovation

I think like a founder whether I'm employed or not. I take ideas from workshop to working product — design-thinking, prototypes, hackathons, MVPs — and I've co-founded ventures of my own. When someone says it can't be done, that's usually where I start.

  • Idea → MVP delivery
  • Design-thinking & research
  • Hackathons & inception
  • Founding & start-ups
  • Go-to-market & launches

Off the clock

I have a work-hard, play-hard philosophy. I measure people by what they achieve — then I go and chase something fast.

Outside work I mountain bike, surf, ski, ride, camp and 4WD — and I shoot and edit most of it myself. A few of the faster moments:
